Google Trusted Stores

On January 20, 2015 Google announced updates to the Google Trusted Stores program.  The program changes the way your ads look and like most extensions this will probably impact the results. I say probably because almost every extension to the basic ad has had the attribute of increasing response.  The reason for this is simple to understand in that people react to what is different. Below is an example of what this ad modification looks like:

The challenge for most small businesses is that the program is that it has a minimum of 600 orders over a 90 day period. In the Inside AdWords Article it states 200 per month but the actual requirements document states 600 orders over a rolling 90 day basis. Link to Trusted Store Program Details.
Minimum requirements

  • Average monthly online order volume is greater than 200 orders per store.
  • Store(s) do not sell restricted products/services
  • Customer support team for my store(s) will respond to all customer escalations within one business day.
  • Store(s) can provide accurate estimated ship dates for all non-backordered items.
  • Store(s)’ shopping cart pages are not hosted on a separate domain.
  • Store(s)’ checkout pages are encrypted (i.e. only accessed using HTTPS).
